Currently, I am on android 8.0 on my Galaxy S8+ and I'm trying to downgrade to Google Play Services 12.6.85, but for some reason I'm having troubles. So, I know the steps to actually disable the google play service, uninstall updates, download the older update and merely install. The problem is, every fourth dimension when I go to download the version I desire (12.6.85) it just says "App Not Installed"

At this point, I've literally tried everything and even so no luck unfortunately. When I remove all updates from the current Google Play Services, information technology drops down to version thirteen.x.twenty and I'thou non certain why this is happening. All I can really think of is that they patched the downgrading method and this no longer works, or something is incorrect. Yes, I've double checked I'thou installing the right version of the Google Play Service update to my telephone, and nothing seems to piece of work.

Too, I've washed this downgrade method many times in the past, and then this isn't my first time doing this downgrade method. Now that the downgrading method doesn't work, I'm hoping someone tin can possibly postal service a piece of work effectually of some sort so I tin actually downgrade my Google Play Services to an older update.

If you accept any information on this or if y'all have a piece of work effectually, please don't hesitate to reply, I'd beloved to hear your feedback!

Cheers :)

Maybe information technology has to practise will another Google system apk needing to be brought back to the original manufactory load version too. Another loaded organization app is incompatible with the older GPS... simply a guess.

Sounds similar a firmware update inverse your playing field. If so it may be a real mess to try to correct.
Rule#1- never update a fast, stable Bone if it's fulfilling its mission.

Wow. That was a quick response.

Whatever assistance would exist really appreciated.
I'm non a programmer or anything like that, and I don't know anything near phones.

I accept a Samsung 8+.
I uninstalled Google Play services to factory settings which is "17.4.55".
I've downloaded the "12.6.85" version for my device, but when I try to install it tells me "App non installed".

P.s. (idk what this whole rooted/unrooted business is, but whatsoever the device default is, is what I got.) I don't take a pc to do all this stuff to root/unroot my device.

Any thoughts?

I know very footling about rooting... because information technology's a time sucking blackhole I have avoided doing it.

Normally going to Playstore is how you update this bothersome app. It doesn't do a whole lot only you demand it for Gmail, Playstore and some tertiary apps. I run with it disabled most of the fourth dimension.
Is your current version not working?

It works, merely I need the lower 12.vi.85 version in order for another app to work properly.
But someone just sent me a message saying:
"Yous can't install an older version of the Google Play Services on top of a newer, default version."

If this is the instance, is in that location no hope to downgrade the Google Play service on my device?

If this is the case, is there no promise to downgrade the Google Play service on my device?

But, yes. I've been searching for days now on a rubber style to apply this ane joystick app to help me on a game, PokemonGo. Long story short, the game requires traveling around to play, but I'thousand in an area where I can't travel. This joystick app would help me travel in the game without traveling from dwelling.
Anyhow, I've read that many people do it easily with a rooted phone, but seems like a more difficult feat than I can accomplish.
