How To Inflate A Roho Cushion
Background
The purpose of aROHO cushion is to decrease the amount of pressure on the sitting area through patented engineering science of interconnected neoprene air cells that increment and decrease in air volume to lucifer an individual's contours.

Comparison of Three Wheelchair Cushions for Effectiveness of Pressure level Relief
Hon Keung Yuen, Donna Garrett – AJOT
Objective: To compare the effectiveness of the shortterm pressure-relieving ability of the 3 most commonly prescribed wheelchair cushions (Roho, Jay, Pindot) for a person with SCI
Conclusion: The Roho absorber was more than effective in relieving pressure at the seating surface than the Jay and Pindot cushions.
Inflating and Adjusting Standard ROHO Absorber
- Identify absorber on centered in a chair, with air cells faced upwards, the valve in the front-left corner of the user.
- Plow valve counter-clockwise to open up.
- Slide pump'due south safe nozzle over the cushion valve and inflate the cushion until information technology begins to slightly arch upward.
- Pinch the pump's nozzle while turning the valve clockwise to close.
- Remove pump.
- Have the user sit in the chair on the cushion in their normal sitting position, making sure cushion is centered underneath.
- With a plastic bag, form a mitten around your manus to slide information technology (and the plastic bag) between the cushion'due south surface and the user's bottom. Lift their leg slightly and feel for their lowest bony prominence (compare besides between the left and right buttocks as well). Lower the user's leg back to the sitting position.
- Plow the valve counter-clockwise to allow the air until the user feels comfy OR if using your hand method, release air until you can barely move your fingertips – no more than one inch and no less than 1/ii inch.
- Turn valve clockwise to close.
Inflating Quadtro ROHO Cushion
- Place the QUADTRO ROHO cushion in the wheelchair with the air cells facing up and the not-skid surface of the cover facing downward.
- Before inflating, you must open the ISOFLO Retentiveness Command so that all of the air cells will inflate. Push the ISOFLO light-green knob toward the unlocked position.
- Slide the condom nozzle of the hand pump over the inflation valve. Compression the nozzle, turn to open the inflation valve, and overinflate the air cells.
- Have the individual sit in the chair in their usual position. The cushion should exist centered beneath the individual.
- (Perform a hand check) Slide your mitt between the absorber and the private. Elevator the leg slightly and feel for the everyman bony prominence, and then lower the leg to a sitting position. Leaving your paw in this position…
- Open the valve to remove air, keeping your paw beneath the individual's lowest bony prominence.
- Release air until you lot tin slightly motion your fingertips, then close the valve.
— If you can slightly move your fingertips: the absorber is at the Proper Cushion Inflation Setting (½" – i" air between the lowest bony prominence and the seat surface) and no farther aligning is needed.
— If you can easily move your fingertips: there is besides much air between the lowest bony role prominence and the seat surface. Open the inflation valve and slowly release air until you can barely move your fingertips, then close the valve.
— If you cannot motion your fingertips at all: at that place is too lilliputian/no air between the lowest bony prominence and the seat surface. Open the inflation valve and slowly add together air until you can slightly motility your fingertips, then close the valve.
